My body satisfaction journey
I’ve used this information in my own life – and completely transformed myself from “How far along are you” to “OMG, you’ve had kids?!”
My weight has been a near-constant struggle for most of my life. I remember in 6th grade weighing in at a solid 25 pounds more than the other girls, despite being one of the shortest in my class.
As I grew, I leaned out during sports and gained fat in the off seasons, but I could always count on that increased activity to get things back on track.
Until I got older, with years of poor nutrition habits making my weight creep steadily higher, despite increased activity. Then, there I was, the mother of four, who was always getting asked if I was pregnant. Ouch.

When I finally got sick of settling for a body I wasn’t satisfied with, I decided it was time to take action.
I figured out what I needed to be eating, and followed every step to get there. Were there times I wanted to quit and just go grab a cheeseburger and milkshake? Hell yes.
But I didn’t because I was committed, no matter what. And that’s when the weight melted off. Over the years, I lost those 30 pounds and kept it off.
But the struggle didn’t end there.
There was still always this battle to keep my calories in check and my inner fat kid just wanted to let loose.
It was when I realized that my brain’s wiring – my subconscious beliefs formed by unhealed emotional wounds – were keeping me in the struggle.
So, once again, I decided to do something about it.
And that was the missing piece because the struggle is gone.
And what I discovered was NOT what I’d expected.
